47 Years

Dear mga anak at mga apo,

Yesterday was our 47th wedding anniversary. We thank God for all the blessings we received during those years, and we pray for continued blessings.

Daddy and I went to the 7 am Mass at SHP. There were plenty of people in church because it was a First Friday of the month. After breakfast we visited Boris at the Delos Santos Hospital. He was confined because of amoebiasis. They were in Baguio with the Solis folks last week-end, and they guess it was there where he got it. According to Junjun they might go home today.

In the afternoon Daddy and I went to TRINOMA, a new mall in front of SM North EDSA. It is run by Ayala Malls and it is very big, but the Mall of Asia is still bigger. We wanted to watch a movie, but there was none that we wanted to watch, except The Pirates of the Carribean. But Luigi said, ‘ Lolo, if you did not watch Pirates 2, you will not understand Pirates 3.” So hindi na kami nagsine, because we did not watch Pirates 2. Hindi bilib sa amin si Luigi!!!

So we just walked around the mall na lang na napakalaki. Daddy bought a pair of slippers because what he is wearing now is so worn out that Flory said itatapon na daw niya. But Daddy kept on wearing it because masarap daw sa paa. So when I saw this pair of slippers yesterday, I insisted that he buy it. At first he did not want kasi mahal daw. But I insisted, so now he has a new pair of slippers.

We asked Roland, Gingging, Luigi and Dave to join us for dinner. So they came and we had dinner at OKI OKI, a Japanese restaurant. Nang bayaran na, Gingging said gift nila sa amin ang dinner, so Daddy put back his credit card in his wallet. Thanks Ging.

After dinner we had ice cream here at home – vanilla and queso real.

We thank all of you for the 47 years – your support, understanding and love.

Take care all of you, and DON’T FORGET TO PRAY.

LOVE, DADDY AND MOMMY.

Dear all,

Today is Saturday, and usually we go to Sunday anticipated Mass and then have dinner out. Tonight we went to Burger King and each had a Big Whopper meal, with fries and coke. It’s been so long that I have not eaten a burger that is why I told Dad na burger naman kami. Ang sarap ng junk food!

It was the other day that I was craving for a burger. I had a light lunch, and I was hungry after an hour. Naisip ko ang burger, but there was no one to buy for me. So tonight, nag burger kami. Sarap!

Retreat

Dear mga anak at mga apo,

Today at 12;30, I am going to Tagaytay for a week-end retreat with the HANDMAIDS OF THE SACRED HEART. We are leaving after lunch and end on Sunday morning. Daddy is going to Matabungkay Saturday with Cesar, stay overnight there and then fetch me in Tagaytay Sunday morning to join us for the 11:00 mass with the retreatants. Then daddy and I will have lunch somewhere in Tagaytay.

In the evening at 7:00, Maddie is having a piano recital to be held at the Philiamlife auditorium. Daddy and I will be back then from Tagaytay, so we are going to attend Maddie’s recital. Galing ni Maddie. Boris plays the violin, and Mia sings and plays the flute, but only Maddie is in the recital.

Celeste is due to give birth anytime. She is having a hard time, and needs bed rest. We visited her last Sunday, and then to Ichay, who got sick, also to visit her . She was alone in the house because Raul, Marina (who was home from Cebu for the week-end), Mariel , and also Carlo, Ramon and Miguel (sons of Marita), went to Anilao to sail to Puerto Galera in their new yatch.

O sigue, I am getting ready for my rretreat. I will pray for all of you, most specially for Celeste that she has a safe and easy delivery, and that our 11th apo be a healthy and normal baby.

God bless you all. Take care and don’t forget to pray,

Love, Daddy and Mommy

Samal Island

The day after Daddy and I arrived from Boracay where we were stranded for one day in Boracay because of cancelled flight, I left for Davao with Sr. Hazel and friends Nora Jones and Carol Lam. We were met by the official car of Mayor Roger Antalan with a tourist guide of the Island Garden City of Samal. Before taking the ferry to Samal Island, we went to visit Gingging’s mama Tita Inday in her house. Ging’s papa is in the hospital but we did not visit him anymore.

We were booked in Bluewaters Resort in Samal Island. The following day we went to a sea side/cliff property of Roger and Tessie where we had lunch and went swimming. It’s a beautiful place, and is asking all of us to visit them there before his term ends in June.

We also drove around the island of which Roger is responsible for roads and electricity during his 9 years as mayor. Tessie is supposed run to take over as mayor, but Roger’s brother instead is running for the puesto, and Tessie is very dissapointed because she worked hard to become the first woman mayor of Samal.

Roger had a mild heart attack, and will undergo angio gram next week.

We came home Monday Feb. 13.

On Feb. 14 Daddy and I went to QCSC for our annual dinner dance. We danced all night, but I got tired easily maybe because of the 2 consecutive trips I did the past 9 days – Boracay and then Samal.

Then yesterday Feb. 15, I had lunch with my Assumption classmates.

Today I slept all day. Then I attended the 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Mass by the 13 newly ordained SVD priests last Feb. 3 in Tagaytay. It was one the most number of those ordained in a year.

I am sorry for what happened to Ichay. Baka too much work.

I hope I get to see Marina during her week-end here from Cebu.

Celeste, how are you na? You need bed rest, so I hope you do so. I am excited to have my 11th apo.

Roland, how was your trip to Malaysia?

Sa mga Americans, hindi pa ba kayo natatabunan ng snow?

O sigue, this will be all for now.

Take care all of you and don’t forget to pray.

Love, Daddy and Mommy

Ichay’s News

Halloo family! I feel like I just rose from the dead. I was sick for 4
days. And I mean very sick- constant 39+C temp, couldn’t walk,
everything hurt, chills, completely helpless, etc. Yesterday I finally
went for a checkup. I have an inflamed bladder and blood in my urine
(duh, don’t ask me how I got it). No wonder my tummy hurt so much too.
Anyway I started antibiotics last night and I feel so much better
already although I’m still far from well. It’s my first time to check my
emails since Monday. Sigh, the wonders of science.

Anyway when I was sick, Raul was in Baguio for his management planning-
an annual planning session for the very top honchos of ABS-CBN (yes even
I can’t believe that he is a top honcho)- only 18 attendees from a total
of 5,000 employees. Needless to say, his attendance was crucial esp
since they were working ona 3yr plan. Well when he found out I was sick
he rushed home like a knight in shining armor to be at my side. Awwww…

Marina’s home for the weekend, her first since she left for Cebu 6 weeks
ago. She’s been eating all her favorite food, a far cry from the
fastfood and instant noodles she eats on a daily basis. Pumayat nga siya
e. She says she’s enjoying film school very much but let her tell her
story. She will also put more picutres in her website. In case you guys
don’t know her webiste, you should visit it
http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazyboyscrazygirl/

Sis Adele, I emailed Auntie Sylvia to visit Tonette’s blog specifically
the post re Dad’s article. It’s a great article overall but there’s a
priceless anecdote there about Uncle Ray’s feeding bottle. I think it’s
a must read for Auntie Sylvia, Ray Jr, Derek and the rest of the family.
She did not reply to my email. Ewan ko kung mali yung email address or
whatever. How can you make sure she got it?

It’s great to be back on my feet!

Curtains

Ma,
I’m getting ready to sew curtains for the house. The windows are really really really cold. The cellular shades (like in Chinky’s house) cost an arm and a leg. I was able to find thermal backing (4 layers – one of them is foil) to sew onto fabric. Joey said you should come here and do it. I told him bakit wala siyang bilib sa akin to make my own curtains. He just looked at me and walked away. Nakakainis. When we were in Ricky’s house we were telling him and Chato about the curtains. First thing Ricky said, you should make your mom come and do your curtains.
